Several years ago, I found myself in the National Gallery, London, standing in front of Claude Monet’s “The Water Lily Pond,” one of a series of paintings of his pond in Giverny, France, done in the late 1800s. I’d studied the series in my college art appreciation class but was not prepared for the effect that this original would have on me. I don’t know how long I stood silent and motionless before it, but when I finally walked away, I was not the same.
Because those few moments helped set my feet on the path of pursuing the arts and beauty, I wanted to capture something of the colors and feel of the Monet painting here on my website. It reminds me of an experience I hold dear and wanted to share with you.
